A few more comments on Toledo -
This fabulous building
was the former imperial
residence built on Roman, Visogothic and Moorish fortresses.
Franco's
troups were holed up here during the Spanish Civil war in 1936.
It was
pretty much destroyed. Franco had it rebuilt. It will be the
national
military museum.
This is another picture of
the interior of the
Sinagoga de Santa Maria la Blanca.
This is the bridge back to
the bus. If you look
closely you can see the bus.
Besides missing the cathederal described by Michener we also
missed
Museo El Greco and "El Greco's House". It contains 20 El Greco
paintings including "View of Toledo". Next time...
